Reflections

BY

When I look     in     the mirror     I don’t always see     myself. When I talk     to my reflection     I’m not sure     if she’s listening. Half the time     my reflection isn’t     there. I need     to check on myself. Sometimes     I see old friends. Family          members     who have passed     away. I can’t see myself.     But when I do     I’m dressed     in scars     that have     darkened     because I keep     opening up     old wounds.
